Today is a poetry day for me: I'm still working on a poem about Lyme Regis and, more particularly, Jane's time in Lyme, but I've opted to mull it over while cutting pieces for a new quilt. Which reminds me that I must photograph the pink and brown quilt top to show you how it turned out. I happen to love it, even if my children think it would make an excellent tablecloth. (Some folks use their quilts for that purpose, but I think I'd like to keep it free of spaghetti sauce if possible.)

Also on today's schedule is the selecting, printing out and organizing of poems for tomorrow night's poetry reading at the Delaware County Institute of Science located in the beautiful old building you see pictured to the right on Veteran's Square in Media, PA since 1867, and sponsored by the Mad Poets Society, a poetry society that's been around for 20 years now. If you're in the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey/Delaware area and have some spare time tomorrow evening around 7 p.m., I'd love to see you there. There will be refreshments, should you require further inducement.

You've made me so homesick. I used to live in Wallingford. Just before we moved 6 years ago, I started bawling during the Halloween parade through Media.

I wish you could be there. Although that must've been one sad Halloween parade if it made you cry. ;)

I am nearly certain that they rock pretty hard without me, so I am far more likely to stun them into silence. But let's hope not.

Even though I'm a fan of Kelly Fineman and refreshments, I am unable to join the festivities.

Give us a full report tomorrow.

I will report back, but possibly not until tomorrow, on account of not knowing how late my evening will go. Thanks for the moral support, Tammi!

I keep running over my schedule, trying to find a way to be there, but it doesn't look like there will be any convenient wrinkles in the time-space continuum. (Weeknights are rough for me to go anywhere.) So I will be there in spirit. Have fun!!

Well. Poop. Actually, I am certain I'll enjoy my evening even though it is starting to look very much like I won't know anyone there except Eileen, the maddest poet of them all (that is not her official title, but she is in charge of the society). I'm hoping to at least see a few folks I've met at the PWC - did you see the online brochure yet? It looks like a good lineup this year, and I'm planning on attending.

By the time you read this, you will have read your poems, met some great new people (probably including Joanne Leva--she used to run the poetry nights that they had for a while at my local Barnes & Noble), and, if the mental vibes I'm sending you have anything to say about it, you will be floating on a pink cloud of joyful accomplishment.
Haven't seen the PWC brochure yet, but I will probably go as usual. Thanks for the heads up!
