Thanks to all of you who participated in my part of the Library Lovin' Challenge.
So, I really wanted to exceed $100 in my Library Lovin' Challenge, but alas, I find that were I to stick with my original intention (50 cents per post from a unique commenter), I'd be at under $50. So I've decided to count myself as unique, along with everyone who posted comments, and use the total tally - 170 posts - as my starting point. Plus there were three people who commented on the wrong post, with my comments back, for a total of 176 comments related to the LLC. So 176 * $.50=$88.00. PLUS $10 of Lubar Good Karma Travel Money for David's safe travel to Charlotte the other day, bringing my total to $98.00.
Plus, if he makes it to Pittsburgh today, an additional $10, for a total of $108.00. (Are you listening, Universe?)
Assuming the best for David, that means I will be donating $54 to my local library, and $54 to Books for Africa. BUT WAIT! Because of your generosity, that means that Kristi (aka
dampscribbler will be making donations of her own. The actual number of unique posters on the proper blog post was 82, which means that she will be sending at least $8.20 to the Multnomah County Libraries, $8.20 to Washington County Libraries, and $8.20 to Books for Africa (plus additional monies to Books for Africa based on comments at her own post - looks to be an additional $6).
Monies raised for local libraries based on comments to my post: $70.40
Monies raised for Books for Africa based on comments to my post: $62.20
Some of the bloggers in the Library Lovin' Challenge are still collecting comments, meaning that you're not too late to make them all pony up their cash. You can find the list over at Jenn Hubbard's blog. Oh - and since my good friend, first reader and writing buddy Angela is still collecting comments until midnight on March 31st, I hope you'll all give her a go. The Burlington County Bookmobile will benefit from your comments to her post.
