Making my list . . .

to do list from Dr Horrible
. . . but not necessarily checking it twice. I believe in starting the new year off on the right foot by spending time on the first day doing the things that I want to focus on during the year - the things that are important to me.

They include lots of time with my sweetheart, time writing, reading, meditating, doing tai chi, napping, and cooking us a really good dinner, and ingesting specific food items (to wit, dark chocolate, black tea, and wine).

That's not my complete list, but it gives you the general idea.

What sorts of things do you want to focus on in 2014?

Judging by how I've spent the day so far: reading, taking walks, and writing.

I went to the first Gentle Yoga class I've taken in months--sort of a test to see if/how the cortisone shots I had in December are working. The class was absolutely fantastic and, while there were a few very tight muscles (I think!) and one twist that felt absolutely wrong (so I didn't do it), overall, I think it was exactly what I needed today and DEFINITELY something I need to continue with this year.

Hooray! So glad to hear you've finally found some relief! I did just a wee bit of yoga today, in addition to some tai chi, and it's something I intend to stick with this year, too, as long as my hip continues to cooperate. (That stupid bone spur keeps threatening to mutiny.)
