Oh happy day!

I am so very glad that "Don't ask, don't tell" has been repealed, and that U.S. soldiers and sailors who happen to be gay no longer have to hide their true selves.

it is good news but i am wondering though just how compromised the repeal was to get it through the senate... at least that's what i am reading about the bill. and i hope this small step leads to other equal rights granted as well, like marriage equality...

It's a step in the right direction. I expect to see marriage equality in my lifetime - I'd prefer it to be sooner than later!

It's about time - I can't believe the bigotry that still exists in our country, though - some of the blowback has been horrifying!

As long as you don't find two many adamant opponents - there are some hateful, horrible things online from that sort just now.

Yay! I'm so glad about this. I was just horrified by some of the debate against it. Like you, I am all for marriage equality too, and I hope this is another step in that direction.
