Behold the Cover of the Omnibus!

And yes, that blog post title was totally in iambic pentameter, in light of the fact that the Ombibus to which I refer is the forthcoming Omnibus of Doctor Bill Shakes and the Magnificent Iron Pentatetrameter, in which will be found my steampunk take on Shakespeare's Sonnet 55, "Not Iron, Nor the Difference Engine." (For clarification's sake, Shakespeare's version begins, "Not marble, nor the gilded monuments".)

Doesn't Doctor Bill Shakes look spiffy?

You can read the entire Table of Contents online at the book's website. The Omnibus will be a collection of steampunk Shakespearean sonnets and short fictions. I fully expect it to be fabulous.

And it will be out soon: It's release date is less than two months away, on May 11th. You can preorder the book online at Doctor Fantastiques using PayPal in your choice of e-book or trade paperback format.

Hey, this looks really interesting. Turning a sonnet into a steampunk story, fascinating idea!

I actually turned the sonnet into a steampunk sonnet - and I kept the same rhyme scheme and essentially the same meaning while doing it. Can't wait to see what some of the others did with their sonnets or other poems. And some of the short stories sound pretty terrific, I must say.
