Today, an original poem that I first shared last year. I'm sure it will resonate with at least some of my blog readers. Of course, there are some of you whose kids have already started back at school. Here in New Jersey, they don't go back until September.

Both of my kids are college students this year. Sara starts classes soon, but Maggie doesn't move in at UMass until the end of the month. (Her classes start in September, too.)

A back to school poem
by Kelly Ramsdell Fineman

I must be a bad parent.
I know I can't be "cool",
since there is nothing I want more
than the first day of school.

Enjoy your weekend!

Does this hold true when they're going back to college, though?

It holds true for me, Becky. But as the poem says, "I must be a bad parent."

That should be in a greeting card parents send to one another at the start of every school year. Better yet, the start of ever summer vacay!
