It's the first Friday in the month of July (tomorrow), so I'm posting my poem written in tandem with my lovely poetry sisters. This month it's triolets, and they were supposed to be heat-related.

Here's mine:

"I'd gladly move to Mexico"

I’d gladly move to Mexico
if only I could stand the heat
and learn to speak in español.
I’d gladly move to Mexico—
just pack my bags and off I’d go
without a care. Let me repeat:
I’d gladly move to Mexico
If only I could stand the heat.

We are CLEARLY on the same wavelength...
A lovely country. Endless amazing food!
...way too hot (in some places).

My sister and her husband live in Mexico for six months of the year. They are learning to speak Spanish even. I think that's the solution.

I love how this packs such a layered punch -- has a message without being even the slightest big messagey -- and is still lyrical and lovey on its face....

Ha! So many kinds of heat to escape from. This is a fun one, Kelly. I'll take the Mexican food and ocean, but I couldn't take the temps, for sure.

I like the rhythm, imagine your singing a little song in answer to the question, Would you live in Mexico? As Mary Lee wrote, I also was thinking of other 'heat' than the weather. Fun!
